How to play “Birthday Cake Hunt” game?
Before the guests arrive:
Write the clues on the index cards.
Prepare a dozen clues with small riddles for the children to guess. Each riddle solved will lead the children to a location, where they will find another card with a new riddle that will lead them to the next location and so on.
Hide the cake near the table where the party will take place.
This will be the last hiding place.
To help you build your riddles, start from the last chosen hiding place and work your way backwards. For example, you decide to hide the cake under the table…
You can then write on your clue: “we eat on my back”. Then place this clue in the previous hiding place that you have chosen, for example in the oven… Then write a new clue: “I cook your meal” and place this clue in the previous hiding place, for example the fridge. Continue in this way with the number of riddles you want.
Start the game:
Tell the guests that the Evil Queen has stolen the birthday cake and they need to find it! Explain that she has left a series of clues for them to follow. Read the first clue aloud and send them on their way.
