How to play Angry Pirates ?
- Setup:
All the guests become “angry pirates” who must not smile or laugh. To communicate, they must use their best angry pirate voice. - Gameplay:
- Non-playing participants, such as adults or siblings, can do anything to make the pirates laugh—ask funny questions, make silly faces, or laugh themselves—but cannot touch them.
- Pirates who laugh are “out” and join the team trying to make others laugh.
- Continue the game until only one pirate remains.
- Awards and Variations:
Add extra excitement by giving awards like “Best Angry Voice”, “Longest Time Without Laughing”, or “Most Creative Pirate.” You can also adapt the game for other themes like knights, princesses, or cowboys for extra versatility!
Expand the pirate fun with The Treasure of the Pirate Island (6-7), a thrilling treasure hunt where kids follow a mysterious map to uncover hidden riches while outsmarting pirates and solving exciting puzzles!”
Variants of Angry Pirates
- Themed Roles:
Adapt the game for other themes like knights, princesses, cowboys, or astronauts. For example, knights must speak in a “valiant knightly” voice, while cowboys use a “wild west” accent. - Props for Extra Fun:
Provide simple props like hats, fake mustaches, or pirate eye patches to enhance the character roles and make the game even funnier. - Time Challenge:
Add a timer to see how long kids can stay in character without laughing. This increases the challenge and keeps the game engaging. - Role Reversal:
Let the pirates try to make the non-playing participants laugh by asking questions or telling jokes in their angry pirate voice. - Team Play:
Divide the children into teams of pirates. Each team tries to outlast the others, with the team that remains serious the longest declared the winner.
