Then count 1, 2, 3! and watch the fun begin!

Variations

This game works great for races and relays. Award points for the team that stands up first or turn it into a relay by having the kids first stand up, then walk to another area of the room. For added challenge, have the kids try and carry an object such as a stuff animal or piece of candy.
Turning the challenge into a tournament can be fun too. Another option is to see if the kids can stand up when they are three, or four, or five, or ten kids in the group! Keep combining the groups until all the kids are involved.

The best part of this game is that it can be used as part of a lesson on teamwork or cooperation. Try having one pair of kids demonstrate the challenge in front of the class. Then explain to the class how both children needed to work together to reach their goal.
