The Tumbling Easter Egg Game rules
Bring a little bit of ancient Roman to your easter celebration with this variation on the classic bocce ball game, only this time, use Easter eggs!
This game is going to be the best played outside but if you, cannot play outside, be sure to make your playing area as soft as possible. I would suggest using several layers of blankets for padding on the playing field for your eggs’ protection in the event you are unable to play this game outside in the grass.
Since this game is a two player game, your guests may need to take turns. Each player will need to have four colored hard-boiled eggs each. Make sure each player has a different color so you know whose is whose.
You will also need one white hard-boiled egg to use as the target egg. You are going to want to mark your playing area if you have not done so ahead of time. The standard backyard court is 12 feet wide and 60 feet long but you can change these sizes if you would like.
You will then choose which player is going to get to put the target into play. A coin toss is a great fair way to do this. The target egg MUST make it at least halfway across the length of the playing field to be considered playable. After the target egg has been made playable then players take turns rolling one of their eggs as close as they can to the target egg until all four of each players eggs have been played.
The player that has the egg the closest to the target egg is then rewarded one point. However, if a player has an egg that is touching the target egg then that player will receive two points. The first player to reach eleven points wins the game!
Tip: You may want to have backup eggs just in case they become damaged or unusable.
You must be the first player to score 11 points by touching or getting your egg the closest to the white target egg in order to win.
