How to play the Doggy Doggy Where’s your bone game?
The game starts with one child being chosen as a “dog”. He will close/cover his eyes and sit in the centre of a circle of children, who will hide their hands behind their backs. Then the adult places a small object behind the “dog”. This object is the dog’s “bone”. With the room totally quiet, select one of the children in the circle to sneak up and take the dog’s bone without making a sound. Once the child has taken the bone, have all the children in the group repeat:
“Doggy, Doggy, Where’s your bone? Somebody took it from your home.”
The “dog” then tries to guess who took his bone. He has three chances to guess who took it. If the child guesses correctly, he gets to be the dog again. If not, the child that took the bone gets to be the next dog. Keep playing until each of the children has had a chance to be the dog.
Usually, all of the children will try to look “guilty” by sheltering their laps or holding their hands together as if they have the bone.
